If you are looking for a touch screen DVD player with great sound and looks with out shedding tons of bucks, then this is the player you should buy..

I’m using this from past 4months in my car. Its wooing everyone on first glance!!
I plugged in this with my JBL 6″ Component speakers, 12″ woofer and Amplifier.. It shakes the grounds !!
The interface is really easy to use and touch is very responsive.

Browsing through the list is seems bit difficult initially, because the track name wont show up completely, Just beginning of the track name you can see. Even you wait it wont scroll to show entire name. And you are a iphone/ipod user then don’t expect the same kind of touch navigation in this one.

Never mind, once you started using this, these factors doesn’t bother you much

Whatever, for this price its a stealing deal…

This receiver is great. There is nothing bad that I have found with this receiver. It takes a litle bit to get used to the knob that controls most of the functions, but once you figure it out it makes listening to music in you vehicle easier. I use the remote a lot and it works great. The bluetooth is awesome, just push one button to answer calls and another to hang up. You can sync your phone book to you radio and the radio shows you who is calling on the screen and when you answer it automatically turns off the music and your phone comes through the speakers in you car. The USB port works good to. That’s what I use for my MP3 player and the song info shows up on the screen on the radio. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good double din reciever just remember that you might need an installation bracket, wire harness for your specific vehicle, and maybe an antena adapter depending on what type of antena cable you vehicle uses. My vehicle uses a smaller antena connector than normal.

I have wanted an in-dash receiver for the longest but i needed to ensure i got one to meet all of my needs. I had purchased one a few months back from Wal-Mart which was a DUAL. BIG MISTAKE. i didnt have any options for ipod or satellite radio only really feature was the dvd playback. I then bought a dvd player called a SAVANT. another mistake because the ipod controls were horrible and make the overall experience not worth it. This time i made sure i did my research to get the one i wanted. I believe that is the main thing. to shop around, go to different websites even go to best buy or your local car audio store to make sure you get what you want. Whether it’s built-in bluetooth or navigation, ipod controls, satellite watever. For me i wanted something that worked well with my ipod and was satellite ready. not only satellite ready but ready for XM because some receivers are ONLY sirius or XM so that’s something i had to mindful of. I wasnt really set on navigation or bluetooth but this unit is capable of managing both so if i ever wanted either i could get it. As for this receiver is just a great unit. Ipod controls are simple and very easy to use as if ur controlling it from the ipod itself. (another plus is if you feel more comfortable using your ipod this unit gives you the option of using your ipod or iphone) DVD playback is great. picture quality is nice and you have every option of the dvd as you would with a dvd player at home. i purchased a XM tuner and it integrates satellite radio well. I have a system in my car (2 twelves) and it gives me tons of options for my speakers whether it’s the level of my subs, or customzing the equalizer it gives you wide array of options. Its just a awesome unit and would recommend it for anyone. I bought it off of Discount Jungle (via Amazon) for around 0 along with the XM tuner, paid in total 0 (including shipping) I’m very satisfied!! I have installed this product and the corresponding Pioneer XM Modules in a 2000 Honda Accord Sedan and a 2000 Ford F350 Super Duty. I refer to the AVH-P4100DVD AS UNIT OR RECIEVER IN THE TEXT BELOW. Both Installs were comparable to the average CD player install. You can purchase an aftermarket harness (Scosche or comparable brand from Wal-Mart), wire connectors, wire stripper to help complete the install. Please make sure your vehicle is accepts double-din recievers. The Accord was easy, and had a gap around all four sides, but no special installation kit was needed. The Ford F350 required a double-din installation kit and trimming of the dash (very minor, used Google to see what others have done, keywords “double-din, ford super duty, F250, F350, etc.) I recommend the purchase of the corresponding remote as well as the BYPASS KIT for the DVD player (sold separately)

Before you get started, understand removal of your old AM/FM/CD/Cassette Reciever. Many times you can get an auto repair manual for your vehicle, or use a search engine to find information on removal/installation of your old Reciever. I also reccomend a 3-6ft RCA cable to connect to the AUDIO INPUT on the back of the reviever if you use an MP3 player other than an iPod. You can route the cable to a convienent location and use a Headphone to RCA Y-Adapter for later use with the MP3 Player. The new Reciever comes with a USB Extension Cable to also route to a convienent location for use of a USB Flash Drive or connection to a USB iPod cable.

Once both installs were completed i was very pleased with the Unit. Controls were easy for me to use, picture quality was great, and the sound was most impressive. I will agree with other reviews that for the price, this is a great Unit. I would buy this product again. Definitely upgrades the appearance in both of the vehicles dash, with a more modern look.

In my Accord, the Unit is connected to the vehicles DIMMER. In this case, when i dim the dash, the display on the Unit dims to the lower preset. It is not variable, like the lights in the dash, You will notice it is SIMILAR TO a Bright/Dim setting, which is adjustable in the Unit. In the Ford F350, i believe i missed connecting to the dimmer, because it does not dim when I turn on the vehicles lights, OR when I adjust the dimmer. I will look into this. As mentioned in the other reviews, the MUTE and DISPLAY buttions are great for shutting off sound or display quickly and easily without interrupting what your viewing or watching.

I have found in the other reviews complaints about the 24-HR clock, this can be changed in one of the menus from to . This is why the product comes with manuals, or if you are like me, this is why you explore the product menus, WHILE PARKED.

The JUST option (as mentioned in other reviews) in the menu rounds up the HOUR for when you are SETTING THE CLOCK so you dont have to tap the minute button quite so frequently. This is similar to a Digital watch from the 80’s or even a digital clock similar to the one in the dash of my Accord.

OVERALL: FUN, EASY TO USE, SOUNDS, LOOKS GREAT. VERY IMPRESSIVE. DONT TRY TO INSTALL IF YOU HAVE NO INSTALL EXPERIENCE. DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU ARE DISTRACTED EASILY WHILE DRIVING, DO NOT TRY TO LEARN THIS UNIT WHILE DRIVING, “PRACTICE” USING WHILE PARKED.

This head unit is a great option for someone who wants an in-dash iPod (particularly iPhone) solution, but doesn’t want to buy a more expensive navigation unit. The simple looks won me over initially, and if you’ve ever shopped for head units, you know that most on the market look absolutely ridiculous, and are apparently intended to be as obnoxious and blinky as possible. Although one major knock on the appearance of the FH-800BT is that the blue illumination is extremely bright, even after you enable dimming. Bright blue LED’s are the bane of modern electronics. Its saving grace, however, is that you can actually shut off the display completely while it is operating, which is brilliant for long-distance late-night drives.

If you have ever used a Pioneer head unit, you will be immediately familiar with most of the settings. EQ, subwoofer, cross-fade, etc. are all there. Some Pioneer units have an adjustable parametric EQ, however this unit has a more straight-forward 7-band EQ. Otherwise, it’s typical Pioneer, down to the trademark beep.

The sound quality is excellent all-around. Radio, CD, iPod, and Bluetooth A2DP all sound fantastic. There was a touch of hiss on Bluetooth audio at high volumes, but I think this is unavoidable. The “Audio Retriever” function supposedly mathematically restores audio lost from MP3 compression. It definitely makes a noticeable difference in the high frequencies without much detectable distortion added, but I think it’s more a matter of personal preference.

iPhone connectivity is superb. I was able to pair the unit to my iPhone 3GS without a hitch, download the phone book, and make and receive calls without any problems at all. The included microphone is a little on the large side if you are trying to hide your install discreetly. However it works very well, and I had no trouble being heard on the other end at highway speeds, even though my car is not particularly quiet. Goodbye bluetooth headset! One minor note is my iPhone occasionally declares that the cable is not intended to be used with an iPhone and asks to be put into airplane mode. I disregard this message, and all features appear to work flawlessly.

A few things are completely unforgivable on this unit:

For example, “Telephone” REALLY does not need to be accessible via cycling through the “Source” button when there is a dedicated Telephone button right next to it.

The feel of the center knob is a bit flimsy, and center-clicking generally requires two-fingers to avoid pushing the knob left/right/up/down unless you push it dead center.

I wish they just added a few more dedicated buttons instead of burying features in the center-knob. There is a lot of empty space on the face of the unit, which would be great to have things like radio preset buttons (or phone quick-dial buttons). And since there are no dedicated radio preset buttons, why do they bother having 3 sets of FM presets? Couldn’t they just put 18 presets in one place instead of forcing me to cycle through? And why does Audio Retriever need a dedicated button? That’s a set-and-forget feature.

The iPod control, while generally very good, has a few nags. The unit allows you to alternate between “Song Shuffle”, “Album Shuffle”, and “Off” (buried in the center-knob functions), however when you tap the dedicated Shuffle button it seems to always jump back to “Song Shuffle”. Hitting the button again does not turn shuffle off (as expected), but instead just re-shuffles your entire iPod and starts playing again. This is really a shame because I prefer to listen to my iPod on Album Shuffle mode, but the unit insists on jumping back to Song Shuffle. So instead, I leave Shuffle off. It’s easy enough to browse for the albums I want anyways.

All in all, this is a very good head unit that is marred by a few flaws. If you can put up with the usability issues, then I highly recommend it. Otherwise, if you don’t mind spending the money, I would look into a more fully-featured unit with navigation.

Bought this to install a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT. Very surprised that Pioneer doesn’t include this in the box for any of their F-series AVIC units. A must-have if installing into anything that uses a standard double-din slot. Looks like an OEM installation in my Mk4 Volkswagen Golf.

Pioneer Avh-P3200Dvd In-Dash Double-Din 5.8-Inch Dvd Multimedia A/V Receiver

My jensing stock car stereo died, so I figured that it was best to get a new one. If you want double din dash, this is the one to get! I dont know why people still buy the 3100 version, probably because they haven’t heard of this one. I almost got that one too, but I accidentally clicked on this one, and boy am I glad I did! The 3100 doesn’t have a SD card slot, which this one (avh p3200dvd) does! I dont use the bluetooth feature, nor do I plan to watch movies on it. I was actually looking at the fh-p8000bt, but I wanted a DVD MP3 feature. For an extra , it was worth it to upgrade to this one because you will get a LCD TOUCH screen, a USB, Aux inputs, DVD playability, AND an SD card slot.

Pros:
The price/feature ratio is a steal! Cheap with superb high-end sound; they don’t skim on the audio just because it plays DVD’s… in fact, it sounds better than my factory jensing which already sounded nice. Also since it’s DVD, it can play my entire music collection. Yes, my mp3 collection doesn’t even fill up a DVD but hey, I’m very picky of what I listen to.

Touchscreen LCD is very easy to use. Navigation is easy once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. The software is very smooth and doesn’t hiccup or freeze.

It has lots of preset led colors to suit your style; This feature wasn’t important for me, but it’s still nice to have. DVD readability is nice, although i dont ever plan to use it for movies…driving and watching movies is taboo.

I can upgrade it to have a navigation system whenever I want.

The USB slot is a great alternative source for music. It is also very compatible with the ipod, and I also heard Zune, but why use an Ipod when I would rather use the deck?

The SD card slot is a feature only in the 3200, not the 3100. This is a plus because I dont want to accidentally kick my usb drive and break my dash. The SD card slides right in and gets out of your way. Also another great alternative source for music.

It looks simply beautiful. I stare at it for 5 minutes every time I get into my car.

Now for the cons:
No theft deterrent. Not too big a deal for me. If a thief wants it, he’ll get it no matter what system you have. Besides, I have a car alarm. I dont think I wanna carry around a large faceplate with me whever I go anyway.

No bluetooth. Okay, so I hear that people complain that even cheap 0 stereos gets bluetooth, but for this system its a 0 addon. but do the other cheap stereos have dvd/mp3 playability? usb/sd card slots? touchscreen lcd? I dont think so. Also, I dont believe in talking while driving so it works out for me.

No HD radio. People also complain that HD radio is a freebie on even 0 stereos. I dont know what I’m missing out on because I’ve never had HD radio. Nor do I listen to the radio much, they just play crap most of the time anyway.

Wow Pioneer blew me away with the features/price ratio. You can’t find any other system with all these features for this price. Not only that, but the quality and craftsmanship of this product is superb.
